Wedding Preview Event

1 Nov

On Sunday, October 14th I had the pleasure of participating in the Wedding Preview Event at the Seattle Design Center.  The Wedding Preview Event was a wedding show like no other I have ever been to.  Four teams worked together to create over the top themed wedding venues.  We were all paired up with vendors including Event Planners, Photographers, Stationery Designers, Caterers, Bakers, DJ’s, Hair and Make-up Stylists, Food Truck Vendors and of course, a florist.  We spent months deciding a theme and working on all of the elements.  Once we decided on vintage carnival using a pallet of turquoise, coral and vintage gold we were off and rolling.  If you have ever worked with a group of creative individuals, you may know that there can be a lot of conflicting ideas and, with the lack of a better description, head butting.  Lucky for me, we didn’t experience any of that with this team and I have to say – I loved our team.   I also have to mention that I once again brought in my husband for some help – he created  the kissing booth which we used for photo opportunities for the guests.

I can’t stress the importance of an Event Planner when working with a themed wedding.  Our wonderful event planners, Meredith and Alissa of Maris Events came into the group a little later due to some changes in our original group and we were so thankful they did!  They were able to reign in all of our ideas, get everybody on task and make sure everything came together in the end.  Thank you again Meredith and Alissa!

I think the photos below will speak for themselves and a huge Thank You to Anna Peterson of Blue Wing Photos who once again, captured all the little details and produced some really wonderful photographs.

Of course, I should also mention that putting this event together and working with hundreds of vendors were the amazing Tawsha and Patti from Wedding Preview Event.  I can’t even imagine how they did it all – coordinating the teams, bringing in all of the vendors, suppliers, sponsors, guests and much more.  At the end of the evening, although exhausted, I was able to reflect on all the amazing talent put together in one room and was so grateful to be part of it.  Thank you again Tawsha and Patti for organizing this great event, I look forward to hopefully participating again next year!
