Spring

13 Feb

Whenever I see tulips, I automatically think of spring – even though tulips are available in the middle of winter at the wholesale market!     My  front garden is just now showing signs of the tulips making their way out of hibernation and hopefully spring is just around the corner.  I am one of those gardeners who doesn’t do anything from year to year, but rather let Mother Nature do all the work.  Sometimes even the squirrels help out by bringing in a new bulb and planting it for me every now and then.

When I was at the market last weekend I saw one of my favorite tulips – the Parrot Tulip and had to make an arrangement using them.    A simple arrangement of green and white parrot tulips, white helibores, white Veronica, kermit poms and curly willow.  I can’t wait to make more arrangement with the large selection of tulips which will be available throughout the spring.  Hopefully the pale pink and green parrot tulips will once again make their appearance in my garden.

Here in the Seattle area every little touch of spring is refreshing, seeing the tulips and flowering branches reminds me that maybe spring will be arriving soon!
